MBOS CI/CD automation engineer for ADAS Base Layer SW Factory (f/m/x)

Mercedes-Benz is bringing the automotive industry into the future! How? We are working on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MBOS), a software-defined architecture that enables state-of-the-art customer functions across domain controllers. One of these high-performance domain controllers implements advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) and automated driving (AD) functions. Our department is responsible for integrating MBOS on this domain controller and, thus, lays the foundation for our exciting customer functions.
About the role:
As an Embedded Automation Engineer you will be responsible for automating the workflows, testing and tooling for the in-vehicle automated driving platform and operating system integration. You will develop automation features as well as design, document, implement, integrate and test your solutions. Typical languages and tools used on a daily bases are Python, Jenkins, Bazel, gitlab, Artifactory among other domain-specific tools, technologies, engineering practices, and methodologies. Your goal and ambition will be to automate as many workflows as possible, providing reproducible, reliable and fast results to the respective users. In your role, you will work closely together with integration engineers and software engineers in cross-functional collaboration.

    Required Skills:
  • University degree or significant practical experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or a comparable qualification
  • Extensive experience with CI principles and tools (git, gitlab, CMake, Bazel, Jenkins, Artifactory, ...)
  • Strong (script) programming skills (Python, Groovy, Java, Bash, and/or Go)
  • Familiarity with the "infrastructure as a code" best practices using tools like Docker, Ansible, Vagrant etc.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologiesFamiliarity with simple concepts of Linux server networks, Linux as a development platform and target
  • Expertise in applying CI and automation to embedded software projects
  • Proficient in English, German is a plus!


    Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with open source licenses and/or being a contributor to open source projects
  • Cloud Architect / Specialist with AWS/Azure background
  • Web developer Expertise (including web based BE technologies)
  • QNXEmbedded software development in C or C++
  • Experience with different testing frameworks and their implementation in CI system to include functional, regression, sanity/smoke, batch, system and other types of testing
  • Understanding of ADAS SW stack and Sensor principles
  • Experience with ASPICE and ISO26262 in organizations
  • Having worked with Adaptive or Classic AUTOSAR is a plus
