Release Train Engineer

Objective of job (abbreviated)
The Chief Scrum Master/Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART). The RTE’s major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. The Chief Scrum Master facilitates ART processes and execution and participates in the Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in the new processes and mind-sets.
She/he supports also the scrum teams in budget forecasts, cost plannings and spendings, procurement and financial reports. The Chief Scrum Master supports the product teams in process optimizations, including but not limited to handling compliance and audit requests by coaching the teams to identify potential audit issues proactively. The RTE reports directly to the director of IT Digital Solution Center.
Task description
Release Train Engineer
-Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART and Solution Train using various tools, such as the Program and Solution Kanbans and other information radiators
-Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
-Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings
-Facilitate the PI planning event
-Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Program Level and the value stream sync for Solution Trains -Manage risks and dependencies
-Remove impediments and escalate in time to senior management, if needed Program Management
-Lead the discussion with audit and compliance and guide the scrum teams to improve
-Lead the budget control, cost planning, spending and vendor procurement in department level
-Have regular alignment with scrum team about project and budget spending status
Other Tasks
-Coach teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mind-sets

Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent. Experience
•5-7 years of work experience in IT projects and/or consultancy firms
•Thereof at least 2-3 years experience as a Scrum Master in a truly Agile environment/organization
•Experience in waterfall projects or programs is helpful
•Strong Agile experience driving major tech implementations
•Experience motivating and mentoring DevOps teams to deliver business value
•Experience of facilitating design thinking and/or PI Planning workshops to ensure program/product value stream
•Outstanding communication and facilitation skills
•SAFe/Agile coach experience is preferred
•Program management experience is preferred
Specific Knowledge
•Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), PMP
•Understanding of DevOps concepts i.e. CI/CD, Docker, Cloud
•Agile toolchain (e.g. Jira, Kanban, Confluence) experience
•SAFe certification is a plus
