Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision, the function of the program and demand management specialist is to ensure programs and balance demand and capacity at the aggregate volume level. Within the program planning group, this position is responsible for creating launch programs, analyzing demand / capacity issues from the pre-series phase through market introduction for new model launches.
Plan pre-series programs, considering sales demands and plant constraints.
Balance launch curves under known constraints.
Create ramp-up plans for new model launches and align with relevant parties including Sales, Vehicle Program Management, Program Planning, and Production.
Manage changes to the configuration of sales orders and perform forecasting using knowledge of Marketing and Sales order systems and processes.
Analyze market introduction option plans and coordinate with relevant partners from MP, PG NAFTA and Sales to balance capacities and demand in cooperation with relevant series code coordinators.
Develop tools to measure, summarize, and report launch status while staying in close communication with the central sales organization.
Work with Sales for evaluating and modifying vehicle orders, determining TAPP dates, and assessing impact to the production in the plant.
Manage the planning for Market Introduction vehicles in collaboration with Sales. Track and report statuses for various markets.
Analyze and manage data in various Daimler systems (e.g. GO, MRS, CC POM) to ensure that the information is accurate. Generate reports and prepare presentations for all levels of management based on the output from these systems.
Communicate significant variations in product demand affecting the vehicle program to affected partners.
Verify and report production status, model year change over status, production results to internal partners.
Manage changes in market packaging or options codes to ensure timely implementation and uninterrupted production. Coordinate option code timing, analyze code dependencies, technical dependencies, etc. and update systems according to introduction date status.
Plan and monitor capacity codes on the sales forecast (GOP) horizon including maintaining restrictions in restriction monitoring system.
Represent Program Planning in critical project meetings.
Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Minimum level of education:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management or related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Production control in automotives, vehicle order processing, program planning, vehicle scheduling, project management, or related areas.
Knowledge of bill of material structures and technical release processes.
Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint etc.)
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Must be willing to travel domestically and abroad if required.
Ability to communicate effectively with others at peer and management levels.
PPL, DIALOG, TBE, Vokus, CAA, eWPP, MRS, CC POM
Knowledge of Marketing and Sales order systems and processes, GO, ISPD, AFAB, PAD, etc.
Knowledge of Product Overview documentation and data structure.
Understanding of adding code rules (Zusteuerung), overall check rules (Pauschale), and order plausibility (Baubarkeit) rules.
German language proficiency
